Shana Brown-Lieberson, Psy.D.
Licensed Psychologist, Founder
As founder of Bala CBT and a Licensed Psychologist, Dr. Brown-Lieberson (she/her) brings empathy, warmth, compassion, energy, and humor to empower clients to reach their goals and feel as though they have a safe space to be themselves.
Dr. Brown-Lieberson works with children (4 years old and up), adolescents, and adults, and utilizes evidence-based treatments, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Habit Replacement Training (HRT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness techniques to create an individualized plan to treat the whole person.
Dr. Brown-Lieberson is an anxiety and OCD specialist who has experience successfully treating Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and various OCD presentations, perfectionism, Social Anxiety Disorder, fears/phobias, Separation Anxiety, Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (Trichotillomania/hair pulling, skin picking, nail biting, cheek/lip biting), Tourette’s Disorder and tics, depression, adjustment disorders, and various traumas, and providing psychotherapy to help with chronic health conditions, gastrointestinal disorders (such as IBS and Crohn's), LGBTQIA+ health, and women's health.
LGBTQIA+ Health: Dr. Brown-Lieberson strives to provide a safe and empathetic space for the LGBTQIA+ community. She has successfully helped clients of various sexual orientations and genders navigate stressors and difficulties, as well as helped provide education for families and helped families navigate care for their LGBTQIA+ child.
As someone who has past training in Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine, Dr. Brown-Lieberson helps clients navigate the healthcare system, while providing tools and skills to help those with chronic health conditions.

Anika Khan, Ph.D.
Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Anika Khan is a licensed clinical psychologist (PA) and a PSYPACT provider specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for children, adolescents, and families. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and completed her predoctoral internship at SUNY Upstate Medical University with a focus on child and adolescent mental health.
Dr. Khan has extensive experience delivering evidence-based treatments for generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, depression, and eating disorders, including exposure therapy, parent management training, habit replacement training, and family-based approaches. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Pediatric Anxiety Treatment Center at Hall-Mercer (PATCH), where she provided CBT for youth with anxiety and OCD and supervised clinical externs.
In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Khan has worked in various multidisciplinary medical settings, including The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, providing consultation and intervention to youth managing chronic medical conditions and psychosocial stressors. Her clinical interests include the intersection of anxiety, medical trauma, chronic health conditions including gastrointestinal difficulties or genetic conditions and family systems.
Dr. Khan is passionate about providing culturally responsive care and has co-led group therapy for individuals of color and contributed to diversity initiatives at Penn’s Psychology Department.
Dr. Khan approaches her work with warmth, collaboration, and deep respect for each child’s and family’s unique strengths.
